New VW Passat

Here is the new VW Passat and this is the first undisguised picture of the new four door saloon from Volkswagen.But this is not the first time it was seen. Earlier this year there were w few spy shots of the Passat testing in alps, but the car was pretty heavily camouflaged.

As expected the front end was revised to fit in with the rest of VW new models. It now has a narrower upper grille with wider air intakes and much closer to the ground, similar to the ones we find and the Polo and Golf. The fronts lights also include daytime running LED lams.

Inside we find a classy three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and chromed dials just like the ones on the Passat CC. This means that the new Passat will be a direct competitor for the C-Class Mercedes and the BMW 3 series. Power will come from either a 1.4 or 1.8 petrol engines or the 1.6 or 2.0 TDi diesel engines. There will also be a 270 bhp, 2.0 litre turbocharged R version.

The Passat will be officially unveiled this October at the Paris Motor Show and will be on sale next year.
