Mini Cooper gets a facelift

While all the fuss is around the arrival of the four wheel drive Mini Countryman, the BMW owned firm is not forgetting it’s main model.

This spy shot gives us a peek of the new facelift that the hot hatch Mini Copper S will get, to keep it fresh.

At the front, we can see that the lower grille has two chromed air intakes instead and lost the chrome surrounding, same goes for the rear and it also gets a new rear bumper and light clusters.

Meanwhile, on the inside we will see more materials borrowed form the countryman than the traditional metal finish of the older Cooper S.

In terms of mechanical changes there won’t be any major improvements, only a few minor tweaks to cut CO2 emissions and to improve the overall fuel efficiency. The facelifted version will go on sale in August this year.
