Ford Focus RS gets white rims

As the final models of the Focus RS are arriving to the dealers, Ford is offering a special set of white rims to commemorate the end of RS production. The 19″ rims are inspired by the ones on the Focus WRC and will cost an additional 740$

David Calder, Ford of Britain Product Manager, commented: “The demand for Focus RS has been astounding. In barely a year since launch, we have sold almost our entire UK allocation – thanks in a large part to this Focus RS continuing the proud tradition of combining high-performance with practicality and affordability. “We expect demand to be high for these last cars and we’re giving customers the chance to personalise them with this exclusive option.”

Peugeot 508 spotted

This is the new Peugeot that will replace bot the 407 and 607. The 508 will be more similar to the 407 in size but a bit enlarged to offer more space or the passengers in the back, this way they will counter one of the major flaws that the previous model had.

Another high priority will be the style of the car. The 508’s design will be inspired bye the “5″ concept car shown this year at the Geneva Motor Show and the SR1 concept.

Power is provided by a range of diesel engine with power ranging from 110bhp to 240 bhp. The 240 bhp version will probably be V6 turbo that will also come with big chrome wheels and a plush interior. There will also probably be a 2.0 liter petrol engine.

The 508 will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show before going on sale in 2011.

Hyundai Veloster

Hyundai is preparing to launch a new rival for the Volkswagen Scirocco! The new coupe called the Veloster has been seen undergoing testing.

The Veloster will replace the Coupé SIII, and will arrive in showrooms in about 12 months at the price of around 23,500$.

The Veloster will get asymmetrical doors meaning there will be one door on the driver’s side and two on the other side.Other features include low ground clearance raked windscreen with blacked-out pillars and a smart central exhaust.

The Veloster will be powered by a 1.6-litre,140bhp direct-injection petrol engine and a 200 bhp turbo version soon to follow. There may be a diesel version too but probably later on.

The official debut will be at the Detroit Motor Show in January or at Hyundai’s home exhibition in Seoul three months later.

Photosynthesis Car

Could this be the car of the future? This funny looking concept called the Photosynthesis Car was conceived by designers Michal Vlcek and Klavir and is designed to be powered by dreams and plants. The Photosynthesis Car would feature a special kind of solar panels that generate energy from natural photosynthesis.

The concept has it’s own garden that makes renewable energy for the car and gives the passengers a natural environ ment. The energy is transmitted to an electric engine that runs the futuristic vehicle. It also features a nano plastic body and a joystick instead of a wheel.

Despite the fact that the design doesn’t seem that great the car is a technological feat none the less that may revolutionize the car industry.

Ferrari 599 Convertible

Ferrari’s boss Luca di Montezemolo talked about Ferrari past, present and future at a conference in London and confirmed that there will be a “open 599″ that will be shown at the Pebble Beach Concours this August.He also added” “The roadster will have a very romantic name,” probably like the 575 Superamerica. The convertible 599 will get a electric roof section and probably a few extra hp to counter the extra weight.

There was also some but news for the Ferrari fans, di Montezemolo said that “We will continue to produce one new model each year – but there will not be a 458 Scuderia.”

Another spokesman for the Ferrari explained: “The more hardcore editions have been a huge success for us over the last few years, so that’s certainly the plan with the 458 too. But unless we can present pioneering and innovative technology there’s no point in making a 458 Scuderia regardless. At the moment it’s hard to see how we could move the game forward significantly enough from the standard 458.”

Regarding the future di Montezemolo said: “The future for Ferrari is hybrid for the 12 and new [turbocharged] technology for the 8. Within 3-4 years we will be ready with a 12 cylinder hybrid based on the HY-KERS concept.”

All This means that all the new Ferrari cars from now on,including Enzo’s replacement,599 and Scaglieti will benefit from the V12 hybrid technology but the V8 will still use turbo technology to improve performance and CO2 emissions.

New Suzuki Swift

This is the new generation Suzuki Swift that will be on sale this autumn with the official unveiling at the Japanese carmaker’s production plant in Esztergom, Hungary.

The new Swift gets a new styling,performance and lower emissions. It also gets a longer body and stiffer wheelbase.

It will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine with Dual VVT (variable intake and exhaust valve timing),that gives the car a lot more power and performance than the old 1.3 litre engine. This means the new Swift can do 56.5mpg while only emitting 116 g of CO2/km.

There will also be a 1.3-litre engine with even better mpg, emissions and performance. This engine will be available in 2011.

Audi E-tron spotted

The electric supercar revolution is here! The production prototype of the Audi E-tron has been seen testing in Germany has been spied testing in Germany and here is the picture to prove it.just weeks before Mercedes-Benz’s AMG division launches its electric SLS.

This comes just a few weeks before Mercedes-Benz AMG launches the electric SLS. Now the race between the two German brands to dominate the electric supercar market heats up.

There are some major differences from the traditional supercar, for instance the E-tron doesn’t have any air intakes, even the front and side air intakes that the R8 has have been blanked off. Last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show Audi also claimed that the production model will have a total of 4500 Nm of torque which is about 5 times what the best petrol engine cand produce.

That amount of torque and the 313 bhp makes the E-tron do 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph. All that is achieved by having one electric engine powering each wheel and a mid mounted, liquid cooled Li-Ion battery pack which gives it a range of 155miles.

The E-tron will be on sale some time next year.

1 milion X5’s

The X5 has just reached 1,000,000 units produced in only 11 years. The milestone car is an aniverssary edition, a sapphire black metallic X5 xDrive35i with cinnamon brown leather trim and will be going to a lucky customer in China.

The X5 is so popular because of being focused more on road dynamics than of road capabilities while still retaining all the style of a 4×4 SUV. And with the addition of the X6 to the range you get a whole lot more road performance from an SUV.

Both cars are built at BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, and are sent all around the world in about 120 countries.Also the 2010 X3 will be produced here.

The Mini is getting bigger

The small agile Mini is getting a whole lot bigger. After the release of the four door,FWD family sized country man, the guys from mini are thinking even bigger. It seems that they plan on releasing a 7 seat version of the family SUV.

The new version is designed to expand Mini influence on the market and compete with the Qashqai+2 or the VW Touran. The Countryman Plus will probably one off the most practical Mini ever designed.

Dr Wolfgang Armbrecht, global head of MINI commented on the new version of Countryman: “We could take the wheelbase from 2.60m to around 2.70m,” so we should expect the Plus to be even bigger than the standard version.

And that’s not all, Mini also gave the green light for the comeback of the Moke thanks to the overwhelming response to the roofless and doorless Beachcomber Concept unveiled at this year’s Detroit Motor Show.

This stunning new concept was developed by Juan Carlos and represents a model for the year 2020. The Velocite Concept looks like sa sport car but it actually runs on only three wheels unlike the other electric cars out there.

The Peugeot Velocite is a eco-friendly, zero emisions car powered by a low-resistance electric motor. Other features include a single swing arm for easy controls,motorcycle suspension and downhill recharging batteries.
